Story time! When I was ten years old, my ma and I were working at a craft fair in SoCal and one day I was aware that after the fair, we were going to go to the store to pick up the pinnacle of cool toys, Horrorballs head-popping action figures! I was being especially difficult that day and at the end of the day, as we were wrapping up, Ma informed me that we would in fact not be picking up said toy because, in her words, I had “blown it”. It was decades before I would eventually acquire this Holy Grail of toys and to this day, when someone says “you blew it”, it sends shivers up my spine.
